Bamboo Fragrance Studio Manual, Vol. 3: 44 classical compositions

The third collection (三集) of the Bamboo Fragrance Studio Manual (竹香斋象戏谱), a Qing dynasty collection of xiangqi endgame compositions compiled by Zhang Qiaodong (张乔栋); it followed the first collection of 1800. 36 compositions are included here. Each chapter opens on the book's diagram, with the book's own line as the mainline. Chapter names are English renderings of the original titles, with the Chinese kept alongside. Problems that carry a number in the source keep it; the rest follow the order of the dpxq.com listing, which is not the book's own order. The records come from dpxq.com and every chapter says so. Every line has been replayed move by move by this site's rules kernel, which proves the moves are legal, not that they match the book: there is only one source, and a line that was recorded short still replays cleanly. These compositions are about two centuries old and long out of copyright.
