Nine compositions from four classical manuals whose recorded solution claims mate by continuous checks and is refuted inside its own line. Each chapter is the book's line as the mainline, with the defence the record does not give as the branch. Ordered by how decisive the refutation is: the first leaves Red without a single legal check.
