Puzzles
Xiangqi tactics training on positions taken from real games. Every puzzle has one winning line. Find it move by move, and the trainer plays the defence against you.
How it works
- Each position comes from a game that was actually played, then gets checked by an engine so the solution is forced rather than merely strong.
- You play the attacking side. The defence answers with its toughest reply, so a line only completes if every move you pick is the right one.
- Puzzles are rated and so are you. Only your first attempt on a puzzle moves either rating, and asking for a hint counts as a miss.
What you will practise
- Forced mates in two, three and four moves, where the general has no escape.
- Winning-advantage puzzles, where the reward is decisive material rather than mate.
- Middlegame and endgame positions across the full range of difficulty.
